Build on previous basic jewellery making skills, through
independent projects with the use of bench work and advanced
soldering techniques. Acquired skills such as basic stone
setting, construction and fine finish will be encouraged. Sample
projects might be a ring with bezel stone setting, a hollow
constructed locket or a handmade chain.
You must have taken a basic intro in bench/torch fabrication.
Materials fee $75 - $100 [Please note: price of metals is volatile]

Want to learn how to get started making jewellery, but don’t
want to commit to a full 7-week course? This series of classes
is designed just for you! Register for 1 or 2 week sessions, and
learn to create colourful jewellery that your friends are sure to
admire. (this is not the prerequisite to our intermediate jewellery course)
Week 1 - February 14 – We will use color theory to help
design and create a beautiful pair of earrings for yourself.

Week 2 & 3 February 21 & 28 – Delve a bit deeper into intro
techniques, and discover the versatility of wire wrapping! You
will take home with you earrings and a bracelet to match, made
by you!

Week 4 & 5 March 6&13 – Egyptian spiral is an ancient design
that has stuck around for good reason – it is stunning! This
elegent design will give you introductory practice to working
with tools of this craft.

Weeks 6 & 7 March 20&27 – How do you connect metal
without the overhead of torches and soldering? Come on out
to discover how! This process will lead you to the end result of
a beautiful pair of copper and sterling silver earrings.

Fashion Forward: Sewing Techniques for the
Intermediate Sewer

Refresh your ho-hum wardrobe or add flair to new patterns
in this follow-up course to That’s Sew Fabulous. The Fashion
Forward student will create a personal manual full of samples
such as gathering, smocking, pleating and several professional
finishing techniques. You will leave this course with new skills
that will take your sewing from common to couture.
